August - September 2005

Hard to believe that the summer and our 16th Annual Show is over for another year! Well technically there is still some summer left, so let's enjoy it!

Close to a record number of vehicles (155) adorned the terraced grassy areas of beautiful Canada Olympic Park on a day that offered perfect weather for the participants and spectators. Parking, registration and judging duties were handled with near perfection (hey, nobody's perfect) as Brian Cormier, Wendy Friesen and Wayne Harris' teams did a great job. Thanks also to the volunteers who sold T-shirts and 50-50 tickets.

The 50/50 I'm sure was a record at $420.00 for the winner, Trevor Bateman. Thanks as well to the various volunteers who assisted with vote counting and tallying the judging sheets, organizing door prizes, announcing winners, etc. You know who you are!

For the second consecutive year, Bill guess was the multiple winner of Early Class, Peoples Choice "best of show" (sponsored by Tower Chrysler) and Judges Choice "best of show" (sponsored by Investment Vehicle Restorations) with his immaculate 1929 Dodge Brothers Victory 6 Sports Roadster. He just couldn't win the favorite 300 Category for obvious reasons. Terry Lavair's 1968 Chrysler 300 was the winner here. Carmine Golemme's 1967 Hemi GTX won the coveted World of Wheels trophy, which was presented by Pat Knecht. A new award this year was Best Muscle Car, donated by Classic Performance and presented to Jom Rous for his 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. Special thanks go out to the Romney family (John, Maureen and kids) for their gracious hosting of Northern Mopars members after the COP show. What a great time!

Northern Mopars presented many great door prizes during our 16th Annual. Thanks to all who gathered them from our generous sponsors. Again, many thanks to the folks at Varsity Chrysler, Renfrew Chrysler and Tower Chrysler, in particular Al Morasch, Kelly Folk and Gordon Miller, who came through with some great Mopar stuff! I wish I had won any of them! Please support our sponsors whenever possible.
